Manufactured for the French government to supplement the Gras rifle, which was then coming into service. Rifle is in very fine overall condition, with an excellent bore. Smooth, well-marked metal retains 90% or more arsenal blue. Wood is fine, with some moderate storage dings. Rifle comes complete with bayonet in very good (but sharpened) condition, and black leather rifle sling in fine condition. Non-matching, and lacks one screw in triggerguard. A little-known military rifle of the period. $850
