Caliber .56. Very fine overall. Excellent, bright bore. Barrel metal smooth, and retains over 80% original factory blue. Receiver generally smooth, with slight roughness in front of chamber. Receiver retains traces of blue. Cylinder excellent, with slight erosion near chamber mouths. Wood is excellent, with no bad dings or scratches. Buttstock has old re-varnish (easily removed). Lacks cleaning rod but retains brass extension in butt trap. Serial number 24XX. As issued. A scarce Civil War "assault rifle" showing very little use. Many were used by Western mounted infantry regiments. SOLD
