A Martini Rifle With Interesting History.

Caliber .577/450. Assembled from a combination of Indian made receiver and many British made parts. You can read its military history in its construction and markings. The original rifle was "sold out of service," purchased, refinished and re-marked in a state arsenal, and issued to native troops at the garrison town of Kohat on the Toi river, in what today is northern Pakistan but was then the "Northwest Frontier." The rifle is in excellent overall condition, retaining 50% blue on smooth, unworn metal. Bore is excellent. British-made wood is excellent and well-marked for the Kohat garrison. Exceptionally nice condition for a weapon used in this part of the world. Lacks cleaning rod. Small wood repair on toe of butt, otherwise complete and mechanically excellent. $1050
