Caliber .45/70. In about extra fine, untouched condition. Very early example (#7518X). Metal is smooth and well marked; barrel retains 50% or more original blue. Unmarked except for bursting proof; receiver, block, and lockplate turned mostly silver. Wood is about excellent, with fantastic 1877 dated cartouche and firing proof. The rarest of the .45 caliber trapdoor carbines, in far above average condition. $5500
