In about mint condition; apparently unfired. Bore is mint; smooth, well marked metal retains 95% of its original arsenal bright. Action retains 95% original black case mixed with brown on hinge. Wood is about mint and retains a great inspectors cartouche. The 2nd Allen was the first .50/70 trapdoor to reach the frontier troops, and was used in both the Wagon Box and Hayfield fights against the Sioux. These are the "guns that won the West." Getting scarce in this condition. $3250
