Manufactured by Ames and dated 1862. Sword is in excellent overall condition. Blade is excellent and retains a bright steel color. Brass is excellent. Steel scabbard also excellent and undented, and retains 40-45% orignal blue finish. Engraved on scabbard, "To 1st Sergeant A. H. Higgs, Co. E, 67th Ill Inf, by E Co, July, 1862." The regiment spent its 90 day enlistment as guards at Camp Douglas. $1650
