In excellent-plus, near mint condition. Smooth metal retains 98% original blue; receiver metal turned silver, with small traces of case color. Wood is excellent and stock retains both cartouches. Mechanically excellent. An extremely attractive example, showing almost no use. Barrel retains two German pre-1898 black powder proof marks, indicating it was among the Spencer carbines sold to France and subsequently captured by the Germans, then later sold on the open market. A Spencer with history. $3000
